Adriano Galliani Vows That Leonardo Will Stay At AC Milan
Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has ended speculation that boss Leonardo will quit the club at the end of the season.
“I reiterate that Leonardo still has another year on his contract with us, but let’s focus on the league for the time being…” the director told Sky Sport Italia last night prior to the Coppa Italia Primavera final between Milan and Palermo.
Leonardo is said to be unhappy with constant criticism coming from owner Silvio Berlusconi despite keeping the Diavoli in the hunt for the Serie A title with the smallest amount of resources available.
“Without injuries, Milan’s season would have been completely different,” admitted Galliani, who went on to reject claims that club legend Paolo Maldini is set for an executive role at the San Siro.
“We have an excellent rapport with him,” he said.
“But what I am reading is based on nothing. Although, I do understand that the media are hungry for news…”
Milan won the Coppa Italia Primavera after defeating Palermo 2-0 at the Scala del Calcio to complete a 3-1 aggregate win.
