Borriello eager for Leonardo to stay at AC Milan

AC Milan striker Marco Borriello hopes Leonardo remains in charge next season.

Milan were forced to deny reports yesterday morning that Leonardo had submitted his resignation.

“We hope to have him with us next season, as he is a person who really makes you happy to be in that locker room,” said Borriello on Milan Channel.

“This was his first season as a Coach, so perhaps he made a few mistakes and will learn from them in future.

“I think that Milan will hold on tight to the boss, at least I hope so. I have an excellent rapport with Leo, he was my teammate in 2002-03 and someone who effectively helped me to grow up.

“Last year, which was very unlucky for me, we spoke a great deal and Leo was always close to me.”
