You may be interested to know, that last season, Pirlo completed 2219 passes out of 2511 – that’s a staggering 88% – not only is it the highest number of passes completed in Serie A, but also the best percentage in the league. (narrowly shading Pizzaro’s 87.9%, however, he only completed 1696 passes)

Pirlo also made 73 tackles/interceptions last season, but the best is yet to come – he only lost the ball 52 times ALL SEASON- which is despite the huge amount of time on the ball he has! And to those who say he only passes sideways or backwards? 71% of his passes were in the opposition half! Once again, the highest in Serie A.
