Daniele Bonera Has Faith In AC Milan’s Title Hopes

Defender Daniele Bonera is confident that AC Milan’s Serie A title challenge is back on track after moving to within four points of leaders Inter.

The Diavoli followed up Sunday’s 2-0 win away to Bari with a 2-1 defeat of Fiorentina at the Franchi on Wednesday, and the 28-year-old told Repubblica.it: “Surely the victory over Fiorentina gives us great belief. Ours remains a chase as we are still behind, but having won two difficult away clashes in Bari and in Florence gives us great hope for the future.

“We only have to thank ourselves. It was a long journey, difficult at times, exciting some other time. We are there now and must do well to stay there until the very end.”

Milan host Atalanta this weekend before paying visit to third-placed Roma.

“It will be a delicate match [with Roma], but we face Atalanta first and it will be even more difficult,” concluded Bonera.
