Milan set to make move for Arsenal captain Fabregas

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas , who has been constantly touted for a summer move to Barcelona, has been linked with a transfer to AC Milan , according to Spanish publication 'Sport'.

The Arsenal playmaker has refuted suggestions that he is set to leave the Emirates Stadium and made his position clear following the Gunners' midweek win over Liverpool, that no discussions have taken place with Barcelona.

However, in a new twist, 'Sport' claims that Italian giants AC Milan are targeting the 22 year-old for a summer move.  They claim that AC Milan 's new sponsor, Fly Emirates would be the club's 'secret weapon', helping finance a deal.  Bringing Fabregas to the San Siro would significantly boost publicity for the new sponsorship agreement, particularly given that Fly Emirates already sponsor Arsenal.

Cesc Fabregas has been in irrepressible form for Arsenal in 2009/2010, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 28 games in the Premier League and Champions League. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly desperate to hold on to his captain in the close season
