Milan sign Genoa defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos in swap deal

AC Milan have formally signed Genoa defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos in an outright deal.

The Greece international moves to Milan in exchange for youngsters Rodney Strasser, Gianmarco Zigoni and Nnamdi Oduamadi, who all go to Genoa in co-ownership deals.

Papastathopoulos will compete with Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva for a place at centre-back, but sources within Milan claim he will start the season at right-back instead.
