Berlusconi Tells Adriano Galliani To Raise Transfer Funds By Selling Players

Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has sent a transfer mandate to CEO Adriano Galliani reminding him that equity needs to be raised from player sales before the club invests in new transfers.

Telelombardia
reports that Berlusconi spoke to Galliani over the phone this week, telling him to have a rethink before making heavy investments.

With the transfer budget slashed in line with new spending policies, Galliani has little to play with.

Berlusconi wants fringe players on high wages ousted from the club and he hopes Galliani can bring the wage bill down across the squad. It currently stands at €86 million per annum.

Kahka Kaladze, Marek Jankulovski and Massimo Oddo are all unlikely to be offered new deals as part of planned cuts.

Even Ronaldinho's future is uncertain. He seems unwilling to take a pay cut, leaving the door open for a move toManchester City.
