Cafu Urges Milan To Buy Brazilian

Former Milan defender Marcos Cafu is trying to encourage the club to buy from Brazil as he lends them a hand on the transfer market.

Cafu, who played for Milan, and now runs a player agency in Brazil, hopes the club will follow his advice.

"I can think of four names. One is Ganso, 20 years old, a midfielder for Santos. Then there is Neymar, a striker who is 18 and also plays for Santos," Cafu told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Another is 19-year-old striker Andre. I can guarantee he is ready for any team. And, finally Miranda, Sao Paulo's defender.

"I know that Milan need wide men. There is Marcelo fromReal Madrid."

Milan have received a new found enthusiasm from Luis Fabiano, who said he was keen to revive a move to San Siro. Cafu has said the striker could have joined them long ago.

"Fabiano is the best in the world for his role. If Milan listened to me five years ago they could have signed him for much less."

Reports have said Milan were clamping down on major spending. And the club have been linked with a sale to major bidders, with Silvio Berlusconi said to be pondering the idea of handing power over to investors.

Cafu believes selling could pave the way forward.

"If Berlusconi was to sell the club then it would be hard for a Milan fan to see the club without him, but if he does it for the good of the club then a new lead would be turned," he concluded.
