Galliani Hints At New Striker, But Ronaldinho's Future Turns Cloudy

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has said a striker could be sacrificed as reports of a Luis Fabiano arrival from Sevilla grow stronger.

His comments come just days after he said a world class player would be arriving this summer, despite the club's Berlusconi-owned empire claiming spending would be curbed.

However, Galliani has made it clear departing players would be replaced with the same quality.

"We are OK in terms of centre forwards and we will count on [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar, [Filippo] Inzaghi and [Marco] Borriello. But if one of these leaves then we will replace them with someone else," Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

Meanwhile, Galliani has other tasks on his agenda, but it seems they have been deferred. Ronaldinho's new deal is far from near as his future at the club is questioned once again, according to Tuttosport.

It seems the club have frozen progress on talks for a new deal until January 2011. Ronaldinho and his agent will go on holiday, leaving little scope for negotiations over an extension.

While no concrete deal has been forthcoming, the Brazilian continues to be linked with Flamengo and Manchester City.
