Galliani hopeful of signing Fabiano
Reports suggested lately that there are two main candidates to come to fill in the center forward position: FC Barcelona & Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic (28-year-old) and Sevilla & Brazil’s Luis Fabiano (29-year-old).
Both have been linked with Milan before. Indeed, AC Milan Vice President Galliani has revealed that Ibra was on the verge of signing for Milan in 2006, but he chose Inter instead, while Milan tried to buy Fabiano last summer.
However, ‘Uncle Fester’ thinks only one of them has a place at Milan: “Ibrahimovic? Impossible. He costs too much. Plus the financial system in Spain is better. Will Luis Fabiano play for Milan? I hope so. I spoke to him last year, but the move didn’t happen. He has impressed me the most at the World Cup.”
There were rumors that Gennaro Gattuso would leave Milan for a Dubai club. Galliani excludes:“Gattuso will not go to Dubai. He has a contract with us and he will fulfill it”.
On the deal between AC Milan and Genoa regarding Marco Amelia, he commented: “Wednesday will be the decisive day for Amelia.”
There are on-going denials in the endless soap opera between Milan and Cagliari regarding the release of Max Allegri. Cagliari Chairman Massimo Cellino promised to release Allegri, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Galliani is clam: “Allegri? I am not worried about this. Cellino gave me his word and he will keep his promises.”
