Milan To Call Leonardo Back As Massimiliano Allegri Move Stalls

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani is ready to change policy and approach over their plans for a new coach by calling back Leonardo as Cagliari play hardball over Massimiliano Allegri.

Sportmediaset reports Leonardo has been called by Galliani, who alerted him to the possibility of returning to the bench.

Milan were hopeful of landing Allegri, who is still under contract at Cagliari, but president Massimo Cellino is in no mood to bow to pressure.

Galliani feels Cellino wants to cash in on the move, and he is ready to pull the plug. The two were due to meet this week, but the Cagliari chief has not returned from Miami - leaving Galliani to fume.

He wants Milan to have a new coach sooner rather than later so the club can plan transfer strategies and prepare early for the new season.

Disquiet is also growing among fans, who are furious their club have not been able to find a suitor.

Leonardo may return, despite the club announcing his contract was rescinded last month.

The actual contract has not yet been deposited with the Lega Calcio, meaning he is still officially under contract at the club, opening the door to his return on the bench.
