Surgeon says AC Milan defender Nesta will play again this season
Famed surgeon Professor Pier Paolo Mariani says AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will be back from his knee op before the end of the season.
The 33-year-old went under the knife yesterday to repair a tendon in his right knee. Mariani also found that Nesta's meniscus was torn.
Mariani said: “Nesta will be discharged in a couple of days. He will have to remain immobilised for two weeks with a cast.
“At the end of this period, he will begin a period of re-education and we foresee his re-entry into athletic activity within 30 days.”
Nesta could be back for the season decider against Juventus in the final game of the campaign.
