Alexandre Pato Pledges Future To Milan

Milan striker Alexandre Pato has quashed speculation about his future by insisting he has no plans to quit the Serie A giants.

“I never said I wanted to leave,” the 20-year-old said in an interview with la Gazzetta dello Sport.

There have been reports that Chelsea are ready to launch a big-money bid to sign the former Internacional man this summer, but Pato insisted: “I’m happy here, this is my home. I have a contract until 2014, and my life is in Milan’s hands.”

Pato was plagued by injury problems in 2009-10 and Milan were unable to go beyond a top-three finish in Serie A.

“Yes, I could have done more,” sighed Pato. “But I got injured three times and stayed sidelined for 40 days. It’s too bad, because I was scoring goals for fun.

“I wanted to win, I hope it will happen next year. I’m happy that we will be competing in the Champions League. But Milan have been winning trophies for many years and I will give my all to make it happen again. I want to score 20 goals and be crowned Capocannoniere. I want it all.”
