Milan set to offer €22.5m for Coentrao
AC MILAN are ready to swoop for Fabio Coentrao in January according to Diario de Noticias.
The Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticiasreports that Milan are preparing a €22.5 million bid for S.L. Benfica left-back / wingback Coentrao.
The 22-year-old’s contract runs out only in 2016 but it seems that Benfica understood they won’t be able to keep this talented player under their possession.
The Lisbon-based paper says that Milan were told by “a source close to the player” that a deal could be struck in January, and it seems that they will submit a bid for him in the winter.
Coentrao’s buy-out clause is around €30m but the Rossoneri are hopeful they will be able to sign him for less, as they would rely on the good relationship with Benfica Sporting Director Manuel Rui Costa.
